Home Again

Well, I'm back. All is well. Mallard is home in Connecticut and in the hands of excellent therapists, and business relations with the Scythian spiderweb-lace trivetweavers are quite intact.

I did have a bit of trouble over Greenland due to weather, but this turned out for the best, since it gave me occasion to briefly visit my old friend Per-Magnus Gudmundsson, Inuit fisherman and leading philosopher of mathematical object theory. We shared herring popsicles and Kirschwasser by the fire, and spoke of surreal numbers. Before I left, he gave me a very precious keepsake: a pair of thermal underwear which had belonged to Sven Hedin. Per said, "Wear them or frame them, as you please: but they belong with intrepid men." I was deeply moved. And am presently very warm.
